Snapchat has a new feature in the works that will let users tell their friends exactly what they’re up to.
It’s called ‘Status’ and it works on top of the Snap Map that you access by pulling down from the main screen.
Snapchat is reportedly testing the feature which would allow users to post Bitmoji cartoons showing what they’re up to. That may include working on a laptop, playing sports or eating at a fast food restaurant.
Snap Map originally came about in 2017 after Snap’s secret acquisition of social map app Zenly for somewhere between $250 million to $350 million.
Snapchat has routinely had its features poached by other social networks if they proved popular. Both Facebook and Instagram brought in self-deleting ‘Stories’ after they were initially created by Snapchat.
