Want to enjoy the complete Sky experience, but don’t fancy drilling a satellite dish into the side of your home? With the arrival of Sky Glass later this month – telly fans will finally be able to ditch the dish. Sky first pledged to untether its premium television service from the satellite dish back in 2017, with then-CEO Jeremy Darroch stating that it would make the service available to millions of new customers across Europe, including two million in the UK, who live in rented properties, high-rise flats, and more.
However, the solution unveiled on-stage during its blockbuster event in London earlier this month isn’t quite what many expected. Sure, Sky Glass offers the same line-up of paid-for channels, on-demand boxsets from Sky as well as streaming libraries from Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix all sorted and suggested based on your viewing history, voice controls, and staples like Series Link (albeit under a new name). But crucially, Sky Glass bundles all of this into a television.

Want to be one of the first to get your hands on Sky Glass? You can pre-register right now. Sky Glass, which is available in 43-, 55-, and 65-inch sizes, will start to roll out to some lucky customers from October 18, 2021. However, you’ll need to pre-register to make sure you’re at the front of that queue. Prices start from £13 a month for the 43-inch panel, with the 55-inch model costing £17 a month, and the top-tier 65-inch 4K TV starting from £21 a month.
