Samsung Galaxy S11 launch date confirmed – and there’s not long to wait

Samsung ’s Galaxy S10 was one of the most popular smartphones of 2019, and now the tech giant is revving up to launch its successor.

Samsung has confirmed the date for its annual Unpacked event, where it’s expected to launch the Galaxy S11 smartphone.

The event will take place in San Francisco at 19:00 GMT on Tuesday, February 11.

Samsung tweeted a teaser video for the event, writing: “Say hello to a whole new Galaxy. Unpacked on February 11, 2020.”

While details about the smartphones launching at the event remain scarce, rumours suggest that Samsung could unveil the S11 alongside the Galaxy Fold 2.

This second generation foldable smartphone is expected to have a flip phone design, rather than the book-like design seen in the Galaxy Fold.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S11 lineup is expected to include a base mode, a S11 Plus model and an Ultra model, all with 5G capabilities.

All three versions are predicted to be powered by either a new Samsung Exynos chipset or the Snapdragon 865 chipset.

However, while the smartphones are expected to launch at the beginning of February, there may be a slight delay before you can get your hands on one.

Rumours suggest that the Galaxy S11 phones won’t go on sale until the end of February or early March.
