Reddit down reports are flooding in right now with users of the ‘front page of the internet’ reporting getting an error 503 message when they try to access it.
Independent outage monitor Down Detector has received a surge of Reddit down reports today.
Out of those affected some 89 per cent of Reddit fans are experiencing issues with the website while others have been hit by login problems.
Reddit users have also taken to social networking site Twitter to report issues with it.
One tweeted: “Ok who broke #Redditdown”
Another posted: “@reddit how does http://redditstatus.io not know you are down?”
One added: “Is reddit down I’m having an existential crisis”
And another wrote: “Reddit is down… Somehow I feel more productive. Maybe there is some correlation?”
Downdetector.com registered a peak of almost 3,500 Reddit down reports while Down Detector UK saw a peak of over 800 Reddit down reports.
The Down Detector outage map also shows that Reddit users in the UK, US and Europe are the ones that mainly have been affected.
Reddit users in areas such as Australia, Malaysia and India have also been hit.
Despite the large number of Reddit down reports that Down Detector has registered the Reddit Status page says the site is still operational.
However, the site has seen a spike in Reddit error rate and a drop in Reddit.com request rates.
The latter shows how many Reddit requests have been served successfully.
The latest outage comes during a summer in which popular services such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Discord have all experienced major service distruption.
