The wait is finally over for gamers in the UK.
The PlayStation 5 has gone on sale in the UK – and desperate gamers will be scrambling to snag a new console.
If it is anything like the previous launch of the new XBox Series X and S, then demand will be through the roof.
Some savvy shoppers may have preordered the new Sony model from GAME will be able to collect their haul in person between 8am and 2pm.
A handful of GAME stores are set to open half hour later, The Sun reports.
But if you’ve not pre-ordered you’ll likely be scouring the web and refreshing online baskets in hope that PS5s will be in stock somewhere else.
Demand is high and supply is low at the usual outlets but some have promised they will have stock.
Sony had already said that any additional stock that will be available today will not be available in stores due to England’s lockdown.
GAME:
GAME is currently showing 'out of stock' for the new models, but if you've preordered you can pick up you're new console in store between 8am and 2pm.
The store had confirmed that new stock will be released today in an email to customers, but it will sell out quick as the drop was timed for this morning, unlike others who are holding off until midday.
Amazon :
Amazon UK currently shows the console as being unavailable, but it is worth checking back as reports show more stock will be live from 12 noon GMT.
There will only be a limited number of new models available, so best be quick.
Currys
Currys PC World has a waiting page at the moment as so many gamers are trying to get their hands on a PS5.
Wait times are expected of around four minutes, with 63,000 people queuing at once.

PS5 finally on sale as bosses hail 'historic moment' and say things will only get better
“We are using a virtual queue to limit the number of customers using Currys.co.uk at the same time due to the unprecedented demand for our amazing tech. This is to give you the best possible shopping experience. Once on the site, you'll have as long as you need,” the website claims.
Currys has said previously that it will have more stock ‘mid-morning’ so it will be worth checking then.
John Lewis
John Lewis will also have more stock by mid-morning. The website is currently down due to the “much-anticipated” launch. Customers are advised to try refreshing the page. Worth checking at lunch-time.
Once the technical difficulties are over it will be worth checking back.
The console is only available online, not in-store.
Very
Very has confirmed that it is getting stock mid-morning today, along with Amazon, Currys and John Lewis – so they really are the best bets.
There is nothing available on Very as of yet, but a message does tell customers that stock is coming at some point this morning.
Elsewhere, it is unlikely that new stock will be available.
Smyths, BT, AO, EE, and Argos are not advertising new stock today, relying on pre-orders. However, Argos says they will have more stock "soon", however.
