Nintendo Switch gamers have had it for almost a year now but it won’t be long before PS4 fans get to try out Little Town Hero. Game Freak fans are getting the new treat in 2020, following its successful debut on the Nintendo platform. However, this doesn’t mean that the Pokemon developer will start porting over any of its other famous exclusives any time soon.
The closest fans can expect to that is the launch of TemTem, which is scheduled to arrive in 2021 on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Originally made for Switch, Little Town Hero is a new RPG set in an isolated village on the edge of the world.
The story sees you battling monsters but while it’s labelled an RPG, Little Town Hero also shares a lot of DNA with other leading genres.
Instead of grinding your way to better abilities and stronger gear, Little Town Hero focuses on Strategy and using Maths to your advantage.
The official game description explains: “One day, a “Monster” appears in the village, shocking everyone because until then, no one knew such creatures existed.
“The protagonist is able to fight it using a mysterious Red stone he found in the coalmines.

“In the course of his defence of the village, he gradually unravels secrets of how the stones and the monsters came to be.
“Unlike most RPGs, there is no need to fight weak monsters repeatedly to level grind in “Little Town Hero”.
“Instead, you will need to have a good strategy to fight each boss monster one on one.”
Game Freak have been slowly expanding their catalogue away from just Pokemon games, with 2019 seeing the launch of Giga Wrecker Alt.
Like Little Town Hero, Giga Wrecker is a title that is completely different from Pokemon, is a highly reviewed 2D action-adventure game where you can manipulate debris and explore a world invaded by an army of evil robots.
But while Giga Wrecker Alt is now available on PS4 and Xbox One, there isn’t a huge list of other Game Freak titles available on those consoles.
Tembo the Badass Elephant was released in 2015 and was recently featured as a Games with Gold title on Xbox One.
However, there has been no talk of Little Town Hero arriving on the Microsoft platform, not yet anyway.
And while Little Town Hero will be arriving on the PlayStation Store in April, there is currently only plans for its launch in Japan.
That means unless you have access to that region’s PS Store, you may have to wait longer for a release in the UK and the United States.
But if this early launch proves successful, there’s no reason to believe Game Freak won’t expand it further in the future.
Little Town Hero was released the same year as Game Freak launched its latest Pokemon project – Sword and Shield.
The game is out now on Nintendo Switch and will remain exclusive to that platform.
New content is also being planned for 2020, with two DLC packs planned for launch throughout the year.
So it looks like another busy year for the studio, which will see new game content released on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
