It’s one of the most highly anticipated gaming consoles of 2020, and now a new trailer for the PlayStation 5 has bene ‘leaked’ online.
3D designer, Giuseppe Spinelli, known online as Snoreyn, has made a video animation for the PS5 controller, which has been shared by LetsGoDigital.
LetsGoDigital explained: “Due to the lack of official images, our 3D designer Giuseppe Spinelli, aka Snoreyn , once again made an impressive video animation as 'advance notice' for the PS5.
“This time the video images are not based on the patents of the Dev Kit and the DS5 controller, this is simply what we would like to see from Sony.”
The video gives a hint of what both new DualShock 5 controller could look like.
It suggests that the back of the controller could have extra grip buttons that will allow ‘hardcore gamers’ to access additional functions.
LetsGoDigital explained: “Consider a racing game such as Gran Turismo, where you can easily change gears with the extra buttons. This releases the L2 R2 triggers and can be used to accelerate / brake accurately.
“This will also add value to other games, for example, making it easier to switch weapons or shooting targets with a shooting game.”
Meanwhile, the video also indicates that the controller will have pressure sensitive buttons, which were present with the PS2 and PS3, but not PS4.
LetsGoDigital added: “We hope to see this again at the PS5, perhaps against better judgment, but we can always hope? We also hope that it will be easier to connect multiple DualShock controllers to the console, this may be difficult with the PlayStation 4.”
The video comes shortly after rumours suggested that Sony could unveil the PS5 later this month.
The rumours were shared on Reddit, and indicate that Sony could launch the console at an event on February 29.
Reddit user PennyOhms spotted that Sony Hall is booked for a ‘private event’ that evening.
They wrote: “Rumoured Venue for PS5 Sony Event closed for "Private Event" on Saturday Feb 29th. Could this be it?”
While previous rumours suggested an earlier launch date of February 5, fans have noticed that Sony does not have any events at Sony Hall that night.
PennyOhms added: “Much later than the Rumoured Feb 5th, but nothing is showing on that day.”
