A straightforward tech hack has revealed how Netflix users can set up their account to play the best sound, and their minds and ears have been blown away.
In a short Instagram reel by video creator Matty McTech from @setupspawn, he shows his followers how to improve their viewing on the streaming platform.
Titled "I was today old when I found this out" the presenter talks about the issue of sound for some viewers, where the background music can drown out the dialogue.

He reveals that this is because Netflix might think you have surround-sound before demonstrating a quick fix.
In the clip he directs those that don't have surround sound to the bottom menu while viewing content, then click on the "other" option.
In the clip he shows that the default is English (Original) 5.1, which he says means that Netflix "thinks you have five speakers and one subwoofer".
"So if you don't you want to select English (Original)," he says.
