Microsoft just fixed 115 problems with your Windows 10 PC, and some are critical

Microsoft just released its March 2020 security update for Windows 10 which is designed to fix 115 vulnerabilities in the hugely popular operating system. Of these 115, 24 are noted to be of a “critical” severity – meaning you should probably install the latest patch as soon as possible to prevent your PC from succumbing to any of them.

A further 88 are labelled as “important” and three are declared to be “moderate” in severity, as noted by BleepingComputer. If you’re running versions 1909 or 1903 of Windows 10, you’ll need to update to builds 18362.719 or 18363.719 to benefit from the beefed-up security.

Microsoft highlighted three main improvements delivered by the latest Windows 10 security patch for 1909 and 1903. These are –

• Improves security when using Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer

• Updates for verifying user names and passwords

• Updates to improve security when using external devices (such as game controllers, printers, and web cameras)

If you’re running the November 2018 Update for Windows 10, there are a number of additional improvements to look forward to. These are –

• Updates to improve security when Windows performs basic operations

• Updates for storing and managing files

The latest Microsoft security update is also available for a number of older Windows 10 builds, including 1803, 1709, 1703 and 1607.

Users are advised to download the new Windows 10 security patch as soon as possible. This can be done by heading to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Although the latest Windows 10 update is certainly essential, it may not be the most exciting change coming to the operating system in the near future.

As early as next month Microsoft is expected to announce the release of the next substantial Windows 10 upgrade – 20H1. The new operating system version is expected to introduce a number of dramatic changes like a new mode for 2-in-1 devices, an upgraded File Explorer and a new version of Cortana without voice commands.
