Instagram users are facing a frustrating afternoon with the app currently down and not working.
The new outage appears to have begun at around 2.10pm with many continuing to suffer from the gremlins that are stopping fans from accessing the service.
Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, is one of the most popular social media networks in the world but fans won’t be enjoying its delights until things get back on track.
Independent outage monitor DownDetector, which tracks social media mentions to try and track issues with popular websites and online services, has recorded more than 6,000 reports from users each minute insisting Instagram is not working on the Android, iPhone, or web app.
DownDectector’s forum is full of complaints about the outage with one user saying: “UK Instagram not working, can’t refresh feed, followers list not loading, tagged photos not loading, etc. Tried restarting phone, deleting and re-downloaded app, still not working. Anyone else?!”
Whilst another added: “It’s 14:15 in uk time rn I just had this problem rn not sure how long Instagram is down I can’t login in it comes up with a error.”
