Brushing your teeth is one of those necessary yet annoying habits, but a revolutionary new toothbrush could make the chore much easier.
The toothbrush, dubbed the Y-Brush, claims to be able to deep-clean your teeth in just 10 seconds.
On its website, its designers explained: “With Y-Brush each of your teeth are brushed 5 seconds since all the teeth are brushed simultaneously, that is 4 times more than with a traditional manual or electric toothbrush during a brushing of 2 minutes.”
The brush uses a movement known as the ‘Bass method’, which consists of tilting the brush head at a 45° angle while making a rolling motion.
This means that plaque and bacteria are removed more effectively, reducing the risk of gingivitis, periodontitis, and gum disease, according to Y-Brush.

While you might worry that the gum-shield like design would result in a rather painful experience, Y-brush reassures that this isn’t the case.
It added: “Tests have shown that Y-Brush removes 15% more plaque than a traditional toothbrush. Also, the tips of its hair are rounded to brush your teeth and gums without aggression.”
However, the Y-Brush is significantly more expensive than standard toothbrushes.
While a basic toothbrush usually costs around £2.00, the Y-Brush starter-kit currently retails for around £92.
What’s more, users are advised to change the brush head once a month, with additional heads costing £21.
This means that over the course of a year, the Y-Brush could set you back almost £340!
