GOOGLE DRIVE DOWN – UPDATE ONE: Google Drive should be back online after widespread issues earlier.
According to the G Suite Status page, the issues that affected Google Drive users today should now be resolved.
The site said: “The problem with Google Drive should be resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.
“Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.”
ORIGINAL: Google Drive down reports are flooding in right now, with users being greeted with an ‘our systems have detected unusual traffic error’ message.
Independent outage monitor Down Detector has registered a surge of Google Drive down reports.
Out of those affected some 92 per cent have been hit with Google Drive app not loading issues.
Downdetector.com registered a peak of almost 20,000 reports of Google Drive down.
The Down Detector outage map said the issues were affecting users in the UK, parts of Europe and also in the US.
As the Google Drive down reports hit users took to social networking site Twitter.
One posted: “Google Drive is down globally”.
Another wrote: “My entire work day rests on Google Drive’s shoulders”.
And one added: “Google Drive is down which means I can’t upload the draft of my manuscript, which means I am going to just retweet every funny GIF I can find about #GoogleDrive being down.
“I apologise ahead of time… more to come”.
The official G Suite Status Dashboard confirmed that there were Google Drive issues today.
At around 6.30pm today the site said: “We’re investigating reports of an issue with Google Drive. We will provide more information shortly. The affected users are unable to access Google Drive.”
