Elon Musk has welcomed a baby boy with Canadian singer Grimes and shared the first pictures of his new son on Twitter.
In typical Musk fashion, the billionaire shared a picture of his child with a tattoo filter and quipped: ‘Never too young for some ink, haha.’
Millions of followers liked and retweeted the photo, offering the SpaceX boss their congratulations. They were eager to learn the baby’s name and Elon replied with something a little less ordinary.
‘X Æ A-12 Musk,’ he wrote.
Given Musk’s delectation for Twitter jokes, it’s unlikely this will be Musk Jr’s real name.
‘Mum & baby all good,’ Elon told a follower.
It came just a few hours after a fan asked Elon, 48, if there was an update on the baby, prompting the businessman to reveal Grimes was in labour and the baby was just ‘a few hours away’.
Elon then announced they had welcomed a baby boy.
Grimes, 32, had been keeping fans updated throughout her pregnancy and in February revealed she had suffered ‘complications’ and felt she was ‘woefully ill-prepared’ to have a baby.
The musician had announced her pregnancy in January with a photo shoot on Instagram, which saw her standing topless with part of her stomach on show. It appeared to be a baby bump with the image of a foetus Photoshopped onto her stomach.
Grimes seemed to then confirm her baby news in response to a follower who complimented the photo.
The Oblivion singer said: ‘I thought about censoring them for a hot minute haha (this may get taken down anyway) but the photo is so much less feral without the nipples.
‘Plus being knocked up is a very feral & war-like state of being.’
The Canadian musician, real name Claire Boucher, went public with her romance with Musk back in May 2018 when they attended the Met Gala together.
It is Grimes’ first child but Musk is already a father to five children whom he shares with his ex-wife Justine Wilson. However, their first child died of sudden infant death syndrome.
