BT customers can now get free Amazon Prime Video for the next six months

One of the best things about Christmas is surely all the festive telly. So as a special Black Friday freebie, BT has decided to hand out six months worth of free Amazon Prime Video, worth £36.

Available to all new customers to BT TV as well as those upgrading their existing package, prices start at £34.99 for a TV and broadband subscription with free Amazon Prime.

Usually £44.99, BT has slashed the price of its classic 24-month TV and fibre broadband bundle to £34.99, which comes with a £39.99 upfront cost.

For an extra fiver, you could bag yourself the Entertainment bundle for £39.99, which contains all of the above, plus National Geographic, Comedy Central, E! and plenty of other premium channels.

And it's perfect timing for football fans, as for the first time ever, Amazon Prime Video will have access to its first ever Premier League games.

Prime Video is set to show two full Premier League rounds consisting of 20 matches over December and January, with customers also able to watch BT's offerings as part of their package too.

Top picks for Amazon Prime's season include Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur, the Merseyside Derby and Leicester City v Manchester City meaning there will now be more than 40 Premier League fixtures being shown live and exclusively across BT Sport and Amazon Prime Video in December and January.

Once the sport's over, the Amazon Prime Video subscription will include all of Amazon's other popular movies and TV shows, including Amazon Originals such as Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Boys, The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Carnival Row and Good Omens – all via the Prime Video app on BT TV.

If you've got an Amazon Alexa-enabled device (such as an Amazon Echo and Echo Dot), you'll also be able to search for all your favourite movies, TV and sport for the first time by linking BT TV to your Alexa account by enabling the BT TV skill via the Alexa app.

Pete Oliver, Managing Director of Marketing, BT Consumer, said: “With six months Amazon Prime Video on us offering access to even more Premier League matches, all in one place with integrated search and one simple bill – there’s never been a better time to be on BT TV. Amazon Prime Video also offers great TV and film, so there really is something for everyone this festive season”.
