If you’re looking to cut down your broadband bill then now could be a time to go shopping.
BT and Virgin Media have both announced deals in recent days with BT giving customers a free TV or Xbox and Virgin offering a £100 gift card.
Those deals are clearly enticing but there could be another option from a very unlikely rival.
Shell Energy has just announced a new deal which not only cuts the cost of getting online but also offers two months of internet access for free.
There’s a number of deals and price plans to choose from with things starting from as little as £16.
Here’s what Shell has available right now and how much it saves.
Shell Fast broadband • £16.99 – was £19.99 a month – Includes average download speeds of 11 Mbps.
Shell Superfast Fibre broadband • £23.99 – was £29.99 a month – Includes average download speeds of 35 Mbps.
Shell Superfast Fibre Plus broadband • £26.99 – was £34.99 a month – Includes average download speeds of 63 Mbps.

Shell says that all of its deals include unlimited downloads and no end-of-contract price rises.
These deals are all available now but will end on December 8 and do require you to sign up to an 18-month deal.
Once you’ve joined you’ll then receive your two months free via a credit added to your bill.
Customers signing up to Shell Energy Fast Broadband will
receive a one-off bill credit of £75, customers signing up to Shell Energy Superfast Fibre will receive a one-off bill credit of £47.98 and customers signing up to Shell Energy Superfast Fibre+ will receive a one-off bill credit of £53.98.
