Apple has launched a new repair program for its iPad Air. If you’ve got one of the popular tablet models which is playing up – then you could be eligible for a free replacement from your local Apple Store, or authorised Apple dealership. The new repair scheme was launched to replace third-generation iPad Air models.
A number have been impacted by a problem that caused the touchscreen to suddenly die. According to Apple, the display problem – which leaves you unable to unlock the tablet, use any apps, or back-up your data – affects a “limited number” of iPads.
The Cupertino-based company hasn’t revealed exactly what causes the issue. However, it has stated that affected displays will tend to flash or flicker before dying out, which should help identify whether your model is suffering from the issue covered by this particular fault.
To be eligible for the free out-of-warranty repair from Apple, your iPad will need to have been manufactured between March 2019 and October 2019. Unless Apple decides to expand the repair program, no other models are eligible and any issues with the touchscreen will set you back like any other out-of-warranty repair.

If that’s a bit of a trek, you can also contact Apple Support to mail in your tablet for the necessary repairs. Like any of the iPhone firm’s repair programs, the service will be completely free of charge as long as your device qualifies. However, you may only get your product repaired in the country where you originally purchased it and within 2 years of the original retail sale.
Apple currently has a number of other out-of-warranty repair programs which are currently active.
