Apple’s FaceTime app allows iPhone users to message each other as well as place video and audio calls to friends. However the service has a bug which could allow a caller to hear sound or see video from your phone before you’ve answered.
The first part of the bug required that a caller try and ring a Facetime user and during the time the call was ringing add another person, turning it into a group call.
However people could simply add themselves to the call.
When they did this the recipient would see that there was an incoming call but would be able to ignore it. The caller, however, would be able to hear audio from their phone’s microphone and in some cases also see video.
Video seems to be sent when the recipient presses the power button on their iPhone.
A slight additionally complication arises from the way the iPhone handles Facetime calls. If your phone is locked, and the call is coming from someone in your contacts list, then you don’t actually see a "reject call" button.
If your phone is unlocked when the call comes in you will have the option to reject and this would also prevent the other person from hearing audio from your phone.

There’s a little workaround for this though. If you press the "send message" button or "remind me" the call is rejected.
To prevent abuse Apple has disabled group Facetime calls for now. Because the bug relies on adding more than one person to the call this should stop the problem.
Apple has responded to press requests explaining that it is aware of the problem and will send an update to fix the problem this week.
It’s not clear if Facetime group chat will remain offline until that bug fix is released. We also don’t know if this will require users to download and install an iOS update, or if the behaviour can be fixed centrally.
People still worried can also disable Facetime in their phone’s settings.
