AI will disarm humanity and force world peace on us all, according to Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
Speaking in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Musk said he anticipates AI to become a 'superintelligence' and 'uber nanny' which will strictly control the freedom of humans and 'punish' countries who decide to invade other territories.
Musk said: "One way to achieve world peace is to take all the weapons away from the humans so they can no longer use them.

He continued: "I don't think the AI is going to try to destroy all Humanity but it might put us under strict controls."
Musk said he thinks the development of artificial digital intelligence is a 'double edged sword'. While he believes AI will 'usher in an age of abundance' and deliver goods and services 'very inexpensively', it could also have devastating consequences.
He told the WSJ: "I expect the first government uses of AI to be weapons technology, so just having more advanced weapons on the battlefield that can react faster than any human could. That's really what AI will be capable of."

Unfortunately for us humans, Musk doesn't think there's a 'zero percent' chance that AI could 'go Terminator' and annihilate humanity, but it's a 'small likelihood'.
In the interview, which ran for over an hour, Musk went on to outline the USA and Europe's advantages in AI, claiming that China is roughly '12 months' behind the West but could easily catch up soon.
"The key question is will China cooperate with the West? That remains to be seen."
