The French forward, 22, has endured a turbulent summer on the pitch, starting off by failing to make the cut for France's World Cup-winning squad.
Since then, Martial's future has been shrouded in mystery – particularly after going AWOL on United's pre-season tour of the US.
The former Monaco star opted to fly home to attend the birth of his son, Swan, and has now be fined two weeks' wages – £180,000.
The stunt meant Martial missed eight days of training and was subsequently not named in the squad to play Germany giant Bayern.
Instead, it's reported Martial was forced to undertake a double-training session back at Carrington in order to get himself ready for action, should he stay.
Boss Jose Mourinho was left furious with the Frenchman after he refused to return to the club's pre-season tour of the US.
But Martial hit back and took to social media to write: "Thank you for all your posts.
"My little Swan is fine, for the mum it was harder but thanks to God she's better now.
"Sorry but my family will always come first… Back tomorrow in Manchester."
