The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal could all be in the hunt for new signings as they look to make sure of Champions League football.
When does the January transfer window open?
The January transfer window will begin on New Year's Day, when clubs will be free to start signing players.
However, new signings will not be allowed to take part in the first round of fixtures in 2019.
A statement from the Premier League confirmed: “Clubs have agreed that no new players registered at the start of the window will be eligible to play in matchweek 21, between 1-3 January.”
The La Liga transfer window will open on January 2 while Italy and Portugal will open their windows on Janaury 3 and the Russian window will remain closed until January 23.
When is transfer deadline day and what time does the window close?
Transfer deadline day will occur on January 31 this year with the window slamming shut at 11pm.
This puts the Premier League in the same situation as France, Germany, Spain and Scotland, unlike in the summer window.
However Italy has opted for a shorter January window, which will close on January 18, while the Portuguese window closes on January 22 and the Russian window on February 22.
