THIS is the sickening moment water shoots out of a hole in a rugby player's face following a gruesome injury.
Medway RFC star Sean Marriot was left with a horror gash on his face after a nasty tackle in this weekend's game against Havant.
After heading off the pitch, Marriot – all the while being filmed – takes a glug of water.
But rather than swallowing it, the liquid spurts out of the new hole just below his mouth.
The Medway RFC Twitter account shared the video along with the caption: "Injury of the week".
And fans replied in droves to comment on the horrific cut.
One joked: "Nasty scratch. Blob of vass and straight back on ???"
Another said: "I can’t believe I had to see this."
A third wrote: "Haha – this happened to my brother 20 years ago I gave him some water which he kept dribbling unbeknownst at the time he had hole in his mouth!"
One added: "Bet that smarts a little! On the plus side its be nice and clean."
To rub salt into the wound, Medway went on to lose the game against league-leaders Havant 29-23.
The result leaves the Kent side fourth (of 14 teams) in the London 1 South league – the sixth tier of the English rugby union system.
