Dustin Johnson addressed his relationship status with Paulina Gretzky on Tuesday night, days after his longtime fiancée purged him from her Instagram feed.
“Every relationship goes through its ups and downs, but most importantly, we love each other very much and are committed to being a family,” tweeted the golfer. “Thank you for your love and support.”
Gretzky, 29, raised eyebrows over the weekend by erasing Johnson, 34, from her social media page. Following the puzzling move, rumors began to circulate that California socialite Yassie Safai may have played a part in the alleged rift. The golf enthusiast issued a strong denial Tuesday.
“I met Dustin Johnson at Sherwood Country Club. I have run into him at Sherwood maybe 4 times since then and yes briefly spoke with him, like I’m sure any avid golfer and member would,” Safai posted on Instagram, which she has since made public again.
“I am sure he is a great person but we do not have a close friendship. I have never met Paulina Gretzky and do not know the Gretzky family, but again, I am sure they are great people.”
Engaged since 2013, Gretzky and Johnson share two sons, Tatum, 3, and River, 1.
“I have no insight into the rumors around Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky’s relationship,” Safai shared. “I wish them nothing but the best. I just want to go back to living my normal life.”
