UFC boss Dana White says Conor McGregor WON'T be punished for bus attack — as Notorious gets set for huge comeback fight

The 30-year-old faced a possible seven years in prison after his rampage at the Barclays Center in April.

But when asked if he was going to be punished by the MMA organisation, UFC honcho White told TMZ: "He hasn't fought in two years. How much longer should we suspend him?

"He's obviously lost lots of money. Millions of dollars in what went down in New York. What more could we do to him? He went through the legal process and got what he got. That's it!"

This comes after it was announced McGregor would fight Khabib Nurmagomedov for the chance to regain the lightweight title he was stripped of earlier this year.

But it could have been a different story, as 'The Notorious' faced being dropped by UFC and faced deportation and jail time, before his charges were reduced to a misdemeanour.

And reports suggest that McGregor was let off with just five days community service and sent on an anger management course as part of his plea deal.

White echoed his light punishment following the announcement of the Irishman's upcoming fight, saying: "Obviously, I've been tellilng you guys forever we had to wait until Conor's stuff was handled in New York.

"[That] got done. It was very favourable for Conor. Time to roll."

Two-weight world champion McGregor will return to the Octogan to fight Nurmagomedov on October 6 in Las Vegas.
