Tragic Luke Perry watches proudly on in stands as son wrestles in heartbreaking images emerged after 90210 star's death aged 52

The late Beverly Hills 90210 star cheered Jack, 21, on from the stands at renowned independent wrestling show PWG – Pro Wrestling Guerrilla – in Los Angeles two months ago.

Jungle Boy – as Jack is known in PWG – mimics Tarzan when he wrestles by styling his hair in long ringlets and wearing leopard-print boots.

Sadly Perry, who was a huge wrestling fan and even appeared in the ring on WWE Smackdown in 2006, saw him lose to Brody King in his last show of support for his son.

Perry died in hospital on Monday aged 52 after suffering a massive stroke at his California home.

The Riverdale star, who had secretly got engaged to his therapist girlfriend, never recovered after being rushed to hospital on Wednesday.

Heartbroken Jack has pulled out of next week's Bar Wrestling show following the death of his father.

The promotion confirmed: "Unfortunately Jungle Boy will no longer be wrestling at our March 13th show.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time."

Perry's family and friends were by his side in his final moments, according to his publicist Arnold Robinson.

He said: "The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning."

Jack told Sports Illustrated in January that he is desperate not to live off his family's success.

He said: "My family is a part of who I am but I'm trying to make my own way."

WWE led the tributes to Perry from the world of wrestling.

The promotion wrote: "WWE is saddened to learn that 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and 'Riverdale' star Luke Perry has passed away at age 52.

"Perry was a noted fan of sports-entertainment who was frequently spotted at ringside for Los Angeles-area WWE events. He once shared the ring with The Miz on SmackDown and even appeared on an episode of The Edge & Christian Show in 2016.

"The decorated actor once described watching WWE as one of the easiest ways for him to feel like a kid again.

"More than anything else, this takes me right back to my childhood," Perry said in a WWE.com interview in 2007.

"WWE extends its condolences to Perry’s family, friends and fans."
