Tottenham set to have transfer target HIJACKED by Saudi club – even though he’s already played for them | The Sun

TOTTENHAM could miss out on signing Clement Lenglet after the deal was reportedly hijacked by a Saudi side.

That’s despite the defender having already played for Spurs on loan.

Ange Postecoglou has already moved to sign several stars since taking charge in north London.

The likes of James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Manor Solomon have linked up with Tottenham this summer.

But Big Ange still wants to strengthen his defensive options after some backline blunders in pre-season.

It’s reckoned Spurs are close to signing Wolfsburg centre-back Micky van de Ven.

And they were also hopeful of completing a permanent deal for former loanee Lenglet.

The Barcelona ace, 28, looked set to join in a £9million transfer after an impressive debut season in England.

However, Mundo Deportivo claims Tottenham’s move for Lenglet has now been hijacked by Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

The big spenders already have star attacking power after landing Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane.

And Al-Nassr now want Lenglet to bring balance to their squad, offering the Frenchman a huge wage package in the process.

An agreement is said to be close, with talks at an “advanced” stage.

It means Spurs will have to look elsewhere if they still plan on bringing two centre-backs in.

And it could also cast doubt over Davinson Sanchez’s exit to Lokomotiv Moscow, with the player himself not keen on a move to Russia.
