It's another long, chilling winter for major league baseball's free agent class.
With less than four weeks until pitchers and catchers report to spring training, six of the game’s top 10 free agents – including Bryce Harper and Manny Machado — remain unsigned.
Last year, it took until mid-February until J.D. Martinez and Yu Darvish – the top two free agents on the market – to finalize a deal and until mid-March for Jake Arrieta and Alex Cobb to sign with a team.
Two years ago on this date, the biggest remaining free agent on the market was Mark Trumbo.
Times have changed, and not to the pleasure of some of baseball's top stars.
You could make quite a ballclub with the free agents still remaining. Here is list of the top free agents, by position:
- C: Martin Maldonado
