Solskjaer open to Pogba taking penalties again after costly Rashford miss for Man Utd – The Sun

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER revealed he is open to Paul Pogba taking penalties again after Marcus Rashford missed against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The youngster's costly wayward effort in the shock 2-1 home defeat came after much debate about Manchester United's penalty takers.

Pogba missed his fourth penalty in 11 during United's 1-1 draw at Wolves last week while Rashford had made no mistake from the spot during the Red Devils' 4-0 demolition of Chelsea on the opening weekend.

Solskjaer publicly claimed after Pogba's miss at Molineux that United still had two penalty takers and whichever player fancies it at the time takes it.

But fans and pundits alike were very confused by the approach and called for Pogba to be stripped of the responsibility.

United's players were also said to be annoyed by the Frenchman's involvement and wanted Rashford to be made primary taker.

Despite Solskjaer's insistence all was well in the camp, SunSport exclusively revealed he tore into the pair after the game and appointed Rashford to the role from then on.

However, after Rashford smashed his pen against the post against Palace, the United boss appears to have had a change of heart.

He said: "The two of them are confident and good penalty takers and I've been in that situation myself and missed a penalty for Norway, and when there are two names there it's the one who's the most confident.

"And Paul has scored so many before so absolutely no problem.
