The 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season will have a new feel for seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson, who, for the first time since his debut in the top series in 2001, will have a new sponsor on the side of his car. And with that, there’s a very different paint scheme.
A few months after Johnson’s longtime primary sponsor, Lowe’s, announced it was leaving NASCAR, the No. 48 Chevrolet driver inked a deal with Ally Financial, which will sponsor the 43-year-old driver for every race over the next two seasons. Johnson unveiled the paint scheme Friday on Good Morning America, and it features a black base with highlights of purple and pink, along with Johnson’s number in neon yellow.
