Saturday's Greatwood Gold Cup betting preview: Latest runners, riders, odds and trainer quotes for the final field

We've put together all the important info to help you find that winner.

1. Dolos – Paul Nicholls/Lorcan Williams [5] (8-1)

On a career high mark now but claimer on board effectively means he's running off the same mark as impressive Ascot win last time.

That was a reward for consistency but may find one or too a tad more unexposed in this company.

Can't rule out though and the yard keep firing in the winners.

Harry Derham on Dolos

Dolos was very good last time and jumped very well, but he is going back up in trip.

We are limited where we can go with him. It helps having Lorcan (Williams) on board as it takes that bit of weight of him.

2. Warriors Tale – Paul Nicholls/Noel Fehily (11-1)

Has been a tad inconsistent over the years but another with a shout for Nicholls here.

Won last time at Aintree with a bit of help from the handicapper. This is tougher but still retains that ability.

Big flat tracks like Newbury and Aintree clearly suit and if jumping holds up will be there or thereabouts.

Harry Derham on Warriors Tale

Warrior's Tale loves Newbury. We took bloods after last time and we couldn't find anything wrong with.

He seems in good form, but he can throw in an odd race like that so we can half forgive him that.

3. Master Dee – Fergal O'Brien/Barry Geraghty (12-1)

Was far too fresh on his long-awaited reappearance so hard to have learnt anything that day.

Should be fitter now and was in good form this time last year. Now looks on a high mark though.

O'Brien has come into good nick again though and Bazza in the saddle catches the eye.

Fergal OBrien on Master Dee

Master Dee is so consistent and had a valid excuse last time with an overreach.

He's had a breathing operation since his last run as well and is as fit as we can get him at home.

We're hoping he's the perfect type for the Grand National, so we're looking for a positive run from him.

4. Mercian Prince – Amy Murphy/Jack Quinlan (11-1)

Bounced back to life in Kempton romp back in January. But is now up a further 10lbs and that was only a small field.

This is a different test all together and at the prices I could stray elsewhere.

Amy Murphy on Mercian Prince

Mercian Prince had a huge hike (10lb) after Kempton and it makes sense to let him take his chance in a better grade of race.

He is in great form and his main asset is his jumping, so if he can get on the front end and get into a rhythm like he did at Kempton then he absolutely deserves to go down this road.

5. Javert – Emma Lavelle/Tom Scudamore (12-1)

It's safe to say Cheltenham doesn't suit this ten-year-old and back at Newbury he looks to have a good each-way chance.

Has raced in good company the last couple of seasons and should be in the mix off this mark.

Lavelle has already had a good campaign and this chap continues to fly under the radar.

6. San Benedeto – Paul Nicholls/Nick Scholfield (14-1)

Slowly dropping down the weights after a tough season but this is slightly easier and could be competitive again.

Only an eight-year-old though and could bounce back for these connections having such a good time of things.

Harry Derham on San Benedeto

San Benedeto has been in the grip of the handicapper.

Spring is his time of year, but I would not be surprised if he was a bit high in the weights still.

7. War Sound – Phillip Hobbs/Richard Johnson (6-1)

Super impressive at Aintree early in the season but well beaten in two runs since and this is another tall order.

Surprised to see as favourite but if bouncing back to form could be hard to peg back under the Champion Jockey.

8. Valdez – Alan King/Tom Cannon (11-1)

Probably prefer it softer but the handicapper has given this 12-year-old a chance now and you can set your watch by Alan King at Newbury.

The run behind Hell's Kitchen was encouraging at Ascot and he has raced in some hot races down the years.

9. Happy Diva – Kerry Lee/Richard Patrick [3] 11-2

Has found another lease of life of late and looks back on the up.

The tongue tie stays on and the handicapper has left her alone after her Listed win.

She looks unexposed and I reckon this track will suit her down to the ground.

Kerry Lee on Happy Diva

There are no mares' chases for her over two-and-a-half (miles), so we've got to take on the geldings.

She's in good form and we know she likes Newbury. I'm not saying this is an easier option than the race at Cheltenham (Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate), but it looked sensible to let her run.

10. Gala Ball – Phillip Hobbs/Tom O'Brien (18-1)

Off for close to two years but had smart form prior to that layoff.

Looks up against it here for obvious reasons and the handicapper has taken no chances.

11. Azzuri – Dan Skelton/Harry Skelton (22-1)

Has some smart form on the flat and will probably be better than current rating but this could come a bit soon.

The Skelton yard have slowly come back into form after the flu jab malarkey and I wouldn't be surprised if he went off shorter.

12. Value At Risk – Dan Skelton/William Marshall (18-1)

Made the most of a drop in the weights to win last time but that was a much lesser race.

Ten pound claimer will no doubt help but would be a big surprise to see this 10-year-old in the mixer.

13. Dustin Des Mottes – Dr Richard Newland/Sam Twiston-Davies (14-1)

Smashed by Aso when quietly fancied on New Year's Day and not seen since.

Remains completely unexposed but would need a big step up on most recent efforts.

14. Nightfly – Charlie Longsdon/Jonathan Burke (14-1)

Looked a mare to follow early on in the season but has been quietly disappointing since.

She has a good pot in her but has plenty to find with Happy Diva on recent form. This could be a step too far so soon.

15. Shanahan's Turn – Colin Tizzard/Ben Godfrey (28-1)

Has shown absolutely nothing this season since his reappearance at Chepstow.

Out again only a week after being beat 60 lengths in a much quieter heat and it would take a massive leap of faith to put your money behind this horse.

16. Zalvados – Oliver Greenall/Paddy Brennan (25-1)

Gets in off featherweight here but is yet to win over fences in his novice campaign.

Runs out of the handicap and has it all to do up in trip. Likely to be a big learning curve.
