Real Madrid ban Vinicius from playing for Brazil at the South American Under-20s Championships

The 18-year-old forward moved the the Bernabeu from Brazilian side Flamengo for a reported fee of £40million.

Two years ago, Vinicius was top scorer as Brazil's Under 17s won the South American Championships and he was voted Best Player.

Yet, according to Globoesporte, Spanish giants Madrid have banned him from playing at the tournament next year.

The Championships are being held in Chile and will run from January 20 to February 13.

Vinicius is not the first Galactico to feel the pressure against representing their country.

Real bosses had made it clear that they were unhappy at the prospect of Gareth Bale featuring for Wales in the Tuesday's game against Ireland.

Dragons boss Ryan Giggs suggested he would face scrutiny from the Spanish capital.

He said before the game: "Our medical team are constantly in dialogue with Madrid.

"Gareth has got muscle fatigue. It's nothing serious. We've re-scanned it and done everything we can to get as much information.
