Arsenal are refusing to give in to Aaron Ramsey’s contract demands.
The Welsh midfielder wants to double his wages at the Emirates as he enters the final year of his current deal.
But the two parties remain some way apart and Arsenal insist they will not be held ransom over the contract.
The Standard reports Arsenal remain confident Ramsey will commit his future to the club.
Ramsey started on the bench for the defeat to Chelsea on Saturday and it remains to be seen if he will be recalled for this weekend’s clash with West Ham.
Emery needs time, says Parlour

Gunners legend Parlour believes Emery’s changes are already taking shape despite Arsenal’s nightmare start which has seen them lose their opening two games to Manchester City and Chelsea.
But Parlour admits the pressure is on for Saturday’s London derby with West Ham when ex-Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere makes his first return to the Emirates.
Parlour said: “The start was always going to be difficult. Supporters will let you off because of how good Man City are. Chelsea is always difficult."
