Jamie Osborne, quite literally, laughs in the face of adversity.
After a fearsome fire blazed through a large chunk of his yard in the early hours of Saturday morning, he posted a video on Twitter joking 'at least no-one had died' and that his charcoal-coloured dog 'had been white the night before'.
He remains the most engaging trainer around and clearly has a sturdy character to boot.
It was truly deserved, then, when his Constanzia, one of the horses closest to the blaze, won in good style at Chelmsford on Saturday.
There were tears afterwards, and it really did seem as though poetic justice had been dealt.
In a weekend that really did lack for class on the level, John Quinn rose above the rest with a couple of impressive victories.
Non-runners were the story of the day at Haydock as the ground turned softer than a baked Camembert, but that played perfectly into the hands of Safe Voyage, who cruised to victory in the John Of Gaunt.
He's clearly a very useful tool when conditions are bottomless and could be the ideal type for something like the Sprint Cup at Haydock, as he has plenty of gas and could well benefit from a drop back in trip.
