With more college schemes coming to the NFL, players are taking notice as to how similar the professional game is to collegiate football in 2018.
Tom Brady is one of them.
During Brady's weekly Monday interview on WEEI, the 19-year veteran had this to say about today's day-in-age in the NFL:
"I think now, in some ways, pro football is more glorified college football. Maybe the transition is a more similar game than what it used to be when I first started.
"I think football now, removing some of the physical elements of the game, it's more of a space game, you see a lot of college plays more in the pro game than what I remember when I started. That's kind of how things have went over the last bunch of years."
These comments by Brady were made during a conversation regarding Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whom New England will face in Week 6.
Mahomes, the backup to Alex Smith in 2017, became the starter for the Chiefs this season. Through five games he has thrown for 1,513 yards with 14 touchdowns and two interceptions. He also has two rushing touchdowns. He leads one of two teams in the NFL who remain undefeated heading into Week 6 (the L.A. Rams are the other).
