Nemanja Matic arrives at Man Utd training… followed 15 minutes later by wife

MANCHESTER UNITED had an unlikely visitor at their training complex on Monday morning as the Red Devils prepared for their Champions League tie with Barcelona.

Nemanja Matic's missus Aleksandra surprisingly turned up in Carrington, 15 minutes after the Serbia international was spotted arriving at United's training ground.

It remains unknown whether Matic, 31, had forgotten his lunch or just missed his stunning model wife's company with the crunch first leg against the Catalan giants looming large.

But a quarter of an hour after the Serbian midfielder parked his white Mercedes at the Carrington base, Aleksandra showed up being chauffeur driver in her black Merc at United's training ground.

Love between the pair is seemingly blossoming as the Matic family welcomed their baby daughter Anika in January.

They couple tied the knot in 2010 and have two other children, son Filip and daughter Tea.

Perhaps Matic hopes his wife will be his lucky charm, allowing him to eventually put fitness struggles behind him and be on top form when United host Barcelona on Wednesday.

In February, the midfielder grappled with muscle problems and then, having started two Premier League games, had to pull out of the Serbia squad during the international break.

ALL ABOARD

Marcus Rashford was also among those pictured arriving at Carrington after he missed the 2-1 Premier League loss to Wolves on Monday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is pulling out all the stops to make sure the Red Devils are capable of causing another Champions League upset after spectacularly dumping Paris Saint-Germain out in the last round.

Hhigh-intensity training was planned for Monday morning as well as a further work on the Norwegian's gameplan ahead of the Wednesday tie.

Solskjaer capitalised on the fact United were not in action over the weekend and flew to Barcelona on Saturday to watch the Catalans beat Atletico Madrid 2-0.

The La Liga champs looked tamed as they won unconvincingly thanks to two, late moments of genius from Luis Suarez and Leo Messi.

Solskjaer then promptly returned to Manchester and called his stars to Carrington less than 24 hours after his visit in Catalonia to reveal Barca secrets.
