But the Egyptian star, 26, followed up his match-winning heroics by utterly baffling Reds fans.
Having shaken off his critics and netted in the gritty 1-0 Premier League win over Huddersfield on Saturday, Salah was back at it again at Anfield.
The Liverpool ace scored his 49th and 50th goals for the Kop club – becoming the quickest Reds player to reach the half-century, in just 65 games.
Yet after the match, Salah posted a picture of himself grabbing his right foot.
Then this morning, the Egypt whiz posted a clip of him scoring from the penalty spot last night, before grabbing the same foot – simply captioned "17" on Twitter.
To make matters even more bizarre, minutes later, Salah deleted BOTH tweets… but what on Earth could "17" mean to the Reds star?
The game was the Liverpool star's 18th Champions League game for the club – ruling that milestone out.
It wasn't his 17th successful penalty either, having taken only ten and scored seven in his career so far.
Nor is it Salah's Champions League goal tally, with that number sitting on 19 across spells at Liverpool, Roma, Chelsea and Basel.
However, one social media user came to a potentially brilliant conclusion.
Salah has been criticised by many for not appeared to be his smiley, happy self of his breakout 2017-18 season.
Yet in the 17th second of the clip Salah posted – and promptly deleted – it's said the Egyptian briefly broke out into a smile.
It would be a somewhat tongue-in-cheek dig from the Liverpool star – and perhaps the reason the tweet was swiftly removed.
