The out-of-sorts Egyptian superstar was subbed off early in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea.
Salah hit 44 goals last season to win the Premier League Golden Boot — but does not look the same player since his wretched World Cup.
And fellow Egyptian Mido is worried for him amid increasing stick from TV pundits and fans.
Ex-Spurs star Mido, 35, said: “People need to chill out when it comes to Mo.
“He won’t be at his best every game and needs better treatment than this.
“Mo’s coming back from an injury and needs time. I don’t want people to get into his head.”
Salah, 26, flopped in Russia as he struggled for fitness after his shoulder injury KO in the Champions League final.
He has netted just three times in nine games this season — all at Anfield.
Yet Mido believes it is unrealistic to expect the ex-Roma man to match his superhuman debut season.
Mido added: “He is not going to score 40-odd goals every campaign. It’s just not possible.
“People are a bit harsh on him and expectations are too high.”
