Michael Owen claims to have never drunk tea or coffee.. and reveals which of the ten films he's seen is his favourite

The former Liverpool and England man has bemused fans with a series of post-football revelations about his personal life, including the fact that he has only ever watched eight films.

But the ex-Real Madrid striker – who was once devastated about running over a rabbit close to his country mansion – has now got up to ten movies but is still yet to enjoy a hot drink.

Undertaking a question and answer section for Joe.com, the 38-year-old gave some further insight into his life and revealed his favourite flick from a sparse shortlist.

Owen, 38, said: “'I've never drunk a cup of tea in my life, or coffee for that matter. But, I've just learnt how to make one.

“I hate watching films.

“I was forced to watch about ten when I was a kid. Can't stand them.

“I've watched Heat, I've watched Rocky, I've watched Jurassic Park twice, Ghost… oh, the bobsleigh one… oh, what's that called? Jamaican bobsleigh… Cool Runnings!

“Probably, out of all of those, I'll go for 'Cool Runnings'.”

Owen’s October 2013 tale about the accidental massacre of a furry friend went viral and, even with a healthy trophy cabinet, it is a topic he is always asked about.

He revealed: “'I live out in the sticks, a little bit in the country and I'm just going down my drive, and a rabbit ran straight in front of me and went 'crunch' under my wheel.

“And I genuinely was gutted. I don't know why I just… five minutes later when I got in the house I put, 'Just ran over a rabbit. Devastated.'

“And even to this day, years and years on, it's the most retweeted thing on my timeline. I love the way people remember it.”
