Mauricio Pochettino insists ‘all is good’ despite worrying back-to-back defeats after Liverpool loss

Pochettino's side slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool to round off a miserable few weeks for the club on and off the pitch.

The Spurs boss had to start the season without any new players after the club failed to sign anyone, and then they saw their hopes of moving to their new stadium delayed.

Then goalkeeper Hugo Lloris got caught drink-driving before they double defeats to Watford and Liverpool.

But Pochettino said: "Is this a tough time? Listen, don't worry about me!

“I am so good, eh. I am so good. Don’t worry about me – you and the other people – don’t worry about me.

“We need to worry about the real things. I am so good. I am so happy.

"Liverpool were better. We competed, we were close, and the action at the end of the game was crazy and the challenge on Son at the end should have been a penalty. Then the result would have been different.

"Of course I am disappointed with the result but we must keep working and improving. Today was a competitive game you can win or you can lose. There are lots of games ahead.

"There are lots of things to assess and analyse – it's early in the season and this is a moment to be cool and calm.

“We started the season really well and we know this league is very difficult, especially after the World Cup.

“It's completely different if you compare to Chelsea or today Liverpool – that is why.

“Before today I was relaxed and don’t worry and today I am relaxed and don’t worry. We are working hard and my confidence and the trust in the players is 200 per cent.”

Pochettino now needs to lift his players before they begin their Champions League campaign with a trip to Inter Milan on Tuesday.
