Marseille confirm free transfer signing of ex-Man Utd flop Alexis Sanchez after his Inter Milan deal was terminated | The Sun

MARSEILLE have reached an agreement to sign Alexis Sanchez on a free transfer.

The Chilean is set to undergo a medical after agreeing personal terms with the Ligue 1 side.

Sanchez, 33, agreed to have his Inter Milan contract terminated earlier this month in order to join a new team for a free.

Marseille have confirmed on their website that they have won the race for the former Arsenal and Manchester United star's signature.

They wrote on their official website: "Olympique de Marseille and Alexis Sanchez have agreed on a transfer on principle

"The Chilean international with 143 caps, who won 17 trophies in his career, will commit himself to Olympique in the next few hours after passing his medical tests."

Sanchez joined Inter, initially on loan from Man United, in 2019.

He made 108 appearances for the San Siro club, scoring 20 times.

After spells in Chile, Argentina, Spain, England and Italy he is set for his first taste of French football.

Sanchez will become Marseille's 11th signing of a busy summer transfer window.
