Manchester United star Paul Pogba slammed by Italian press after flopping against old club Juventus

The Frenchman, like most of his team, put in a sub-standard performance as the Red Devils poor form stretched to one win in seven matches.

And Italian paper Corriere dello Sport pulled no punches in their criticism of the former Juventus man.

CdS said Pogba's performance was "declassified" and was "too slow in his mind and his feet", rating his overall performance as a five out of ten.

The press also criticised the management of under-fire boss Jose Mourinho, stating his team "mirrors his image and likeness".

In a scathing report, only David de Gea and Marcus Rashford were rated a six or above.

The Red Devils were outplayed by the Old Lady and hardly threatened throughout the match.

Paulo Dybala's first half finish proved to be enough to secure the points and Mourinho did not hide his admiration for the Italian champions in his post-match conference.

He said: "In the other side there was huge quality.

"Sometimes people look for Ronaldo or Dybala but in a top team you have to look to Chiellini and Bonucci. I think Juventus are the type of team that when they are in front it's very difficult.

"I think our attacking players, things were not coming. But everyone tried, everyone was strong mentally to try until the end. Juventus felt it and they ended the game with an extra central defender."

Man United now sit in fragile position in their Champions League group – although Valencia's draw with Young Boys last night marginally helped their cause.

They are two points ahead of Valencia and will be hoping to gain maximum points in their trips to Switzerland and Spain and secure qualification to the knock-out rounds.
