Manchester United fans fly banner over Turf Moor in protest of Ed Woodward

Around 15 minutes before United’s clash at Burnley, a plane flew over Turf Moor with a damning message for the club's chief decision-maker.

A banner read: “Ed Woodward: A specialist in failure” – highlighting the growing disenchantment among fans at the club’s lack of transfer business… and it was still flying in the minute's silence for Burnley legend Jimmy McIlroy.

It also showed that most of the supporters don’t blame the boss Jose Mourinho, who many feel has been let down by Woodward.

The Special One submitted a list of five defender-targets this summer – with a grand total of zero coming through the Old Trafford door.

And on the back of a humbling 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham fans decided to show the club exactly who they are blaming for the Manchester mess.

It is almost ten years to the day that an Abu Dhabi takeover thrust Manchester City into the big time.

That will only serve to frustrate United fans more at how far they have fallen behind their big city rivals.

Meanwhile, United are rolling out their new pink away shirt at Turf Moor.

This new pink kit is a special edition, which takes inspiration from the Manchester Evening News famous football 'Pink' publication.
