    Telles departure confirmed

Alex Telles has been officially confirmed as an Al-Nassr player by the Saudi Arabian club.

The Brazilian full-back joined Man United in 2020, but failed to maintain a regular first team place with the Red Devils.

He spent last season on loan in Spain with Sevilla where he helped them win their seventh Europa League title.

The 30-year-old will join his former Man United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at the club after the Portuguese powerhouse made the switch from Old Trafford last season.

Man Utd look ready to take up the extra year’s option on right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The ex-Crystal Palace player, 25, is out of contract next summer but United have the chance to keep him beyond that.

Palace would like Wan-Bissaka to return to Selhurst Park but they will not have any joy because United plan to keep the defender, who has impressed manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman wants to sign Axel Disasi, 25, for the position but the fee is too big and takeover issues make it difficult.

Monaco may yet sell Disasi so Ten Hag is on alert — especially if Diogo Dalot leaves Old Trafford.

    Weg booed

Man Utd loan flop Wout Weghorst was booed by Burnley fans during their friendly against Genk.

The striker came on as a substitute in the 79th minute with the Clarets in search of an equaliser.

But his arrival was greeted with boos and X-rated chants from the travelling Burnley faithful.

Fans booed his every touch against Genk and others on social media felt that treatment was well deserved.

One supporter said: "Well done fans. Pay your money and pay your respect or disrespect. The guy could have apologised but instead he thinks he can walk back in as though he did nothing wrong."

    Ex-United star retires

Giuseppe Rossi has announced his retirement from football at the age of 36 with a touching message.

Rossi started out at Manchester United's academy in 2004 and his talent led to comparisons to Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero thanks to his speed, technique, passing, dribbling and shooting.

The striker spent three years in United's books but only managed a mere total of four goals and one assist in 14 appearances.

The ex-Italy international was sent out on loan to Newcastle and Parma before his departure in 2007 when he joined Villarreal.

Rossi went on to play for Fiorentina, Levante, Celta Vigo, Genoa, Real Salt Lake and SPAL, where he ended his career.

Pepito issued a touching farewell message to fans stating his "dreams came true".

    Henderson twist

Another player that looked set to follow Anthony Elanga to the City Ground from United was goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

But in an unexpected twist, Forest look prepared to pull out of a move for the England stopper.

That's because Keylor Navas has once again become available, having also spent last season on loan at the City Ground.

Navas was signed by Steve Cooper's side in January after Henderson sustained an injury.

And the temptation to sign the 36-year-old Costa Rican goalkeeper again this season looks to be too much for Cooper.

Navas had looked set to move to Saudi Arabia but a move did not materialise.

And Forest could be set to land the keeper for a reduced fee as PSG are keen to get rid of the stopper.

Elanga to undergo medical at Forest

Anthony Elanga looks set to join Nottingham Forest in a £15million deal.

The winger has made 55 appearances for United but found himself to be a bit of a bit-part player under Erik Ten Hag.

His most sustained run in the team came under interim manager Ralf Rangnick in the 2021-22 season.

Elanga is set to undergo a medical on at Forest on Monday ahead of completing the move.
