LIVERPOOL'S Super Cup win has sparked a massive row with Manchester United fans over who is the most successful club in English football.
The Merseyside giants secured their latest piece of silverware with last night's victory over Chelsea.
Koppites, including club legend Jamie Carragher, claim that that takes their tally of major gongs to 43 and puts them one ahead of United.
But who really is the greatest?
WHY LIVERPOOL?
Liverpool fans claimed the Super Cup victory has not just secured them silverware – but also bragging rights.
They have now won 43 major prizes, if you only include league titles, FA Cups, league cups, the Champions League or European Cup, the Uefa Cup or Europa League, the old Cup Winner's Cup and the Super Cup.
The Reds have won 18 league titles, seven FA Cups, six Champions League title and three UEFA Cups.
And after their penalty shootout Super Cup win over Chelsea in Istanbul, they claim they are the most successful side in history.
One fan claimed: "Waking up and realising Liverpool are the most successful club in England. Damn this feels good."
Another said: "If anything, Manchester United will now step up because Liverpool have overtaken them as the most successful club in England again."
WHY MANCHESTER UNITED?
But United have disregarded the claims of Liverpool's fans because they have won more trophies in total.
The Red Devils have won 20 domestic titles, 12 FA Cups, five league cups, three Champions Leagues and one UEFA Super Cup.
In total, they have won 66 if you include Charity or Community Shields, Uefa Super Cups, Club World Cups and Intercontinental Cups – which is four more than Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Liverpool would only be the most successful English if United's 21 Community Shield trophies were not included.
One United fan wrote on Twitter: "So for now, Manchester United remain as England's most successful football team of all time. Thank you for your time."
While one said: "Manchester United: 66 trophies. Liverpool: 62 trophies. Liverpool still have a way to go yet to become England's most successful team."
The statistics prove that United are still the most successful in English football, but Liverpool fans still tried to mock their rivals.
Anfield veteran Carragher even took a cheeky swipe at former United defender Gary Neville on Twitter.
He tagged him in a post which read: "Liverpool 43 major honours. Most successful team in English football history. Didn't take long to get back on our perch, did it."
