The Los Angeles Kings will go beyond the standard moment of silence when honoring the victims of a mass shooting at a dance bar in Southern California.
They, along with the Minnesota Wild, will make a statement during Thursday night's game at Staples Center with helmet decals that say, "Enough."
"We want to help amplify the message that enough is enough," Kings President Luc Robitaille said. "We cannot accept these incidents as a new reality.”
Twelve people, including a law-enforcement official, were killed when a gunman opened fire inside Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks, California, on Wednesday night.
“This is a horrible event, another senseless act of incredible violence and it clearly hits home here with us again as Thousand Oaks is part of our community," Robitaille said.
The team will help that area with two 50-50 raffles and arranging for a blood drive.
