Lonzo Ball, agent Harrison Gaines agree to part ways

Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball isn't done making changes to his professional life. According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Ball and his agent Harrison Gaines have "mutually agreed to part ways."

Here's the statement from Ball, via ESPN.

"Harrison Gaines has been a trusted advisor and close friend for many years," Ball told ESPN in a statement. "He guided my NBA career with integrity and always had my best interests at heart."

This is just the latest move Ball has made in his camp. Two weeks ago, Ball announced that he was cutting ties with his business partner Alan Foster over alleged missing funds from Ball's professional and personal accounts. Ball has also seemingly moved on from the Big Baller Brand after he deleted all references to the brand from his social media.

However, in spite of the timing, Ball wanted to ensure everyone that parting ways with Gaines was unrelated to the recent drama in his camp.

"Harrison has always had my back and although we will no longer be working together after mutually deciding to part ways; our relationship will always be bigger than basketball," Ball said in the statement.

Ball is now one of the biggest names in the NBA that will be seeking representation this summer. Could his teammate, LeBron James, lead him to sign with Klutch Sports? Will he continue to go through the road less traveled and hire a lesser known name?

Only time will tell, but it's safe to say this summer is going to be interesting for the 21-year-old point guard.
