Liverpool's Lazar Markovic could move to Newcastle

LAZAR MARKOVIC could be about to end his Liverpool nightmare with a move to Newcastle United.

The Serbian is yet to feature for Jurgen Klopp this season, and hasn't even managed a place on the bench in the Premier League.

And now the Championship outfit, managed by former Anfield boss Rafa Benitez, have thrown their hat into the ring for his services.

It is likely to be a loan move, although if the Magpies can match Liverpool's £16million valuation, it could even be permanent.

Goal.com has reported Markovic is Newcastle's top choice to fill one of the berths on the wing, with West Brom's Callum McManaman also on the radar.

And SunSport have today revealed Newcastle could also be set for a shock swoop for former Manchester United and West Ham man Ravel Morrison.

The English midfielder is currently on the books at Lazio – and impressed in pre-season matches with two outrageous penalties – but the former West Ham man has failed to feature in the opening two Serie A games of the season and the Toon are ready to pounce.

Earlier this summer, Markovic rejected the chance to return to Portugal with Sporting Lisbon. Liverpool paid Benfica £20million in July 2014.
