Khabib hits out at ban for UFC 229 brawl with McGregor when ‘Nevada allows drugs and prostitution’

The Russian, 30, received a nine-month suspension and a £380,000 fine for his part in the brawl which commenced after his win over Conor McGregor at UFC 229.

After he received his punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, he ordered them to take a look at their own problems.

He said: "[The NSAC] said to take part in a social campaign… the state of Nevada is a place where they allow drugs, prostitution and gambling. Let them work on themselves.

"There were fighters who didn't fight for two years and didn't have their belts taken for a year and a half.

"I'm ready to fight, they were the ones who banned me."

After the fourth-round win over the Irish superstar, he leaped outside of the cage and attacked Dillon Danis.

But the Russian, who boasts a record of 27-0, admitted he would do it all over if he had the chance.

He said: "I've had many situations in my life that I regret, you can't turn back time.

"But this is not on the list of things I regret. If the situation happened again 100 times, I would do the same thing 100 times.

"I don't have a gram of regret about my actions.

"Some people liked it, some people didn't. It makes no difference. I did what I wanted to do."

McGregor was handed a £38,000 fine and a backdated suspension of six months for his part in the brawl.

But Khabib has claimed the influence of politics had a huge impact on the title fight at UFC 229.

He said: "From the organisation [UFC] I felt support for his side, there were a lot of moments when I turned a blind eye.

"I was fined exactly ten times more than McGregor. I believe that attitude isn't only towards me, but also towards our country.

"Sport should be without politics. And in our fight, politics were very strongly felt. I hadn't felt that before, but now I've begun to."
