Jose Mourinho sacked: What problems did the former Man Utd coach have at Old Trafford

Rows with Paul Pogba

Mourinho had a turbulent relationship with record signing Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United boss told the £89million midfielder: “You’re a good player, not a special player.”

The midfielder hit back at Jose's tactics in a TV interview, raging: “When we are at home we should attack, attack, attack. That’s Old Trafford. We are here to attack.

“I think teams are scared when they see Man United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake today.”

Arguments with the board

Over the summer, Mourinho hit out at the Manchester United board for not signing the players he asked for.

The Red Devils picked up Fred from Shakhtar and Diogo Dalot from Porto, along with back up goalkeeper Lee Grant.

Mourinho raged: "It is possible that I'm going to have one and that one, I gave at least to my club, five names a few months ago, and I wait to see if it is possible.

"This is not my squad, not even half, not even 30 per cent of my squad." Pic
