Here SunSport looks at what we have learnt at the half-way stage with just another four days to go of running before the cars are flown to Melbourne for the season opener on March 17.
FERRARI are the early pace-setters. Not only do the Italian team have a quick car, they are also reliable and managed to work thought their preseason testing schedule without any problems.
Furthermore, Charles Leclerc looks comfortable, despite this being only his second season in F1 after an excellent debut year with Sauber.
MERCEDES should be worried. The reigning champions are concerned about Ferrari's pace.
In fairness, we do not yet know the true speed of the Merc, as they traditionally keep their flying laps in the bank until the final day of testing.
However, there is still a lot of work for them to do if they are to challenge Ferrari for pole position in Melbourne.
RED BULL have made a solid start to the season without really exciting.
The jury is still out on whether the Honda engine will be as powerful as they predict.
They are also short on mileage compared to Mercedes and Ferrari.
McLAREN have made their best start to a winter test in years — yet that was not exactly hard.
So far, they have not experienced the reliability issues which hurt them so badly during the Honda years.
British rookie Lando Norris also impress on his first run in the car too, going second-quickest on day two.
WILLIAMS have had a disaster.
Not only was the car two days late on its arrival in Barcelona, they have also had to battle against reports of discontent within the team.
Sure, they are not happy, but they need to have a solid second week to have any hope of not starting out as the slowest car.
RENAULT hardly a spectacular start. The rear wing fell off Daniel Ricciardo's car but they recovered towards the end of the week.
HAAS the reverse of Renault. Started off like a train and then went backwards as their rivals improved their pace.
TORO ROSSO radical car design and the Red Bull b-team were surprisingly quick over the whole week.
ALFA ROMEO rather like Toro Rosso and expected to challenge the bigger teams working on larger budgets in Melbourne.
RACING POINT unconvincing start for the former Force India team, who have to start adding speed to their car.
