Granit Xhaka ruled OUT of Arsenal’s clash against Wolves as furious fan row rumbles on – The Sun

GRANIT XHAKA has been ruled OUT of Arsenal's clash against Wolves this weekend despite revealing the sickening abuse that led to his "f*** off" rant at fans.

The Gunners captain explained that he had reached "boiling point" after vile trolls had threatened to kill his wife and break his legs.

The Swiss midfielder was left out of the club's midweek penalty shootout defeat at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup but was expected to return to skipper the side at Molineaux tomorrow.

However, in his pre-match press conference, manager Unai Emery said Xhaka is in the wrong frame of mind to play while also refusing to clarify whether the captain's armband had been taken away from him.

He said: "He is training. He didn’t play in Liverpool for me he is continuing, above all [we are] focusing on tomorrow.

"The first is the person, the human. Like everyone he feels, Xhaka, with his issues, needs time to recover normality.

"He said sorry, he gave the apology to the supporters and to everybody. Now is the focus on the match.

"We were waiting on Monday and Tuesday (to sort out the captaincy).

"It is not in my mind that he will play tomorrow. I am thinking tomorrow he is not going to play.

"Now we need to be focused 100 per cent only on the match. We are going to do the training today but at the moment it is not in my mind.

"I want to speak about the players who are going to play."

Xhaka raged at Arsenal fans after they booed him in the Gunners 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace last Sunday.

Emirates chiefs will not take disciplinary action against him because they have concerns about his fragile mental state.

A club insider confirmed that the 27-year-old – who deleted his Arsenal profile photo on Instagram – has become increasingly dejected by the abuse he has received.

His wife Leonita Lekaj also locked her own social media account after appalling death threats and Emery commented on how explosive the taunts have been.
